We Need Your Voice to Protect Arts Education!
Recently, the United States Representatives voted overwhelmingly in favor of protecting funding for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Prior to the vote, arts alliances across the nation advocated for representatives on both sides of the aisle to vote "no" on the proposed budget cuts.
This is great news and shows the power of advocates for the arts. However it does not end there — Congress is on the brink of making other devastating cuts to arts education funding.
The House Appropriations Committee's FY25 proposal slashes Title I by 25%, eliminates Title II, and proposes the complete elimination of the Assistance for Arts Education (AAE) program. Their rationale? "Funding should focus on core subjects like reading, writing, and math."
We know that arts education is vital. We cannot allow Congress to strip away critical support for it.
Join the VoterVoice campaign below to tell Congress why arts education matters to YOU. We encourage you to personalize your message for the greatest impact.
The new budget draft will be submitted August 1 so we encourage you to act now.
